Desktop Support Consultant

Desktop Support Consultant needed immediately for our tight-knit, high-trust team consulting to High-Tech San Francisco Bay Area companies. Position is full time role. Position Description

  • Taking individual responsibility for resolving issues reported from multiple sources including trouble tickets, phone calls and automated alerts.
  • Supporting daily operation of a wide variety of systems including Windows and Mac systems, mobile devices, networking equipment and application support.
  • Working closely with IT staff to support new system builds, software setup, hardware configuration.
  • Working with engineering team to support IT projects.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation, inventories, processes and procedures and project plans.

  • Proficient in both Windows and Mac support, including Operating System install and configuration, application software, and wireless/network connectivity.
  • Experience with Corporate IT SaaS application like Office 365, G-suite, Box, Dropbox, Zoom, Slack, etc.
  • Familiar with managing and maintaining accounts with Active Directory and Single Sign On (Okta, OneLogon, Jumpcloud, etc.).
  • Fundamentals around networking, DHCP, DNS, windows networking, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiar with endpoint device security (antivirus, WorkspaceOne/Jamf, backup).
  • Process driven with strong documentation skills
  • Ability and motivation to learn new technologies quickly and with minimal support and guidance.

Desirable Skills

  • Linux proficiency
  • Basic scripting (ex Powershell, Ruby)
  • Cloud experience (AWS or Azure a plus)
  • VOIP phone system management
  • Certifications a plus (ex. Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Citrix)

Background:

  • A minimum Bachelors Degree with study in Computer MIS or related field
  • Experience with basic computer troubleshooting; 2-3 years min desired
  • Experience in consulting field highly desirable
